In the fast-paced world of fashion, group chats can light up faster than a runway spotlight. Lately, it seems we’ve become quite the topic of discussion in a few of them. So, let’s hit pause, grab your tea (or spill it, your choice), and address some of the wild tales making their rounds. Spoiler alert: we’re not quite what the group chat claims.
Pull up those receipts—it’s time to set the record straight, clear the air, and maybe even have a little fun while we’re at it.
1. "They Make Models Sell Tickets Like a Fashion Pyramid Scheme!"
Reality Check: Nope, not even close.
Here’s the deal: Models are here to do what they do best—walk the runway and showcase incredible designs. Selling tickets? That’s on us, not the models. The only thing models should be worried about is whether their strut steals the show (spoiler: it will).
2. "Models Have to Pay to Walk. Scandalous!"
Reality Check: False. Laughably false.
Let’s be crystal clear: Models don’t pay to walk—ever. They show up, work their magic, and serve looks that could stop traffic. As for payment, it’s the designer’s responsibility to compensate the models they book. The only fees involved here are the ones we cover to create an unforgettable runway experience, from lights to music and everything in between.

3. "They’re Not Even a Real New York Fashion Week Platform."
Reality Check: Excuse us while we adjust our CFDA-listed crown.
Let’s set the record straight: Rise Fashion Events has been cosigned by industry heavyweights, featured in renowned publications like Inc. Magazine and Time, and has showcased collections from celebrity designers. We’ve built a platform that champions innovation and creativity, giving emerging talent the stage they deserve. So, while not everyone can sit with us, rest assured—we’ve more than earned our place at the New York Fashion Week table.
4. "You’ll End Up Paying for a Ride in Their Mystery Van."
Reality Check: Huh?
Is this Fashion Week or a Scooby-Doo episode? No, we’re not a ride-share service. While our events are meticulously organized, transportation isn’t part of the gig. What we do offer is an unforgettable experience from runway to red carpet. Bring your own mystery machine, though.
5. "Rise Fashion Events is Just Another Money Grab."
Reality Check: Ha! Try again.
As a non-profit platform, our mission is to empower emerging designers, not empty their wallets. Every penny goes back into creating runway magic—whether it’s stunning venues, professional photos, or top-tier production. We’re here to lift designers up, not cash in on their dreams.
6. "They Don’t Work with Models Who Collaborate with Competitors!"
Reality Check: Not true.
We understand that models work with various platforms—it’s part of the industry. However, professionalism is key. Unfortunately, we’ve experienced instances where models double-book or skip our events altogether, causing disruptions for designers and the rest of the team. We respect everyone’s ambition but kindly ask that models honor their commitments. When you rise with us, we rise together—and that means showing up, ready to slay.
But Wait, There’s More!
If you’ve heard these wild claims and still wondered, “What’s the truth?”—we’re glad you asked. At Rise Fashion Events, we pride ourselves on being a real community for creators. Our shows aren’t just about the runway; they’re about connection, growth, and setting the stage for future success.
Rumors come and go, but our commitment to designers and models? That’s forever.
